Kindergarten students learned how to weave with paper! After creating their own paper loom, students worked hard to maneuver their colored paper strips through the paper warps. This became the body of the owl. They used oil pastel and watercolor to create resist paintings, which were torn up to become the owl's wings. Finally, students added a detailed face and background elements. This project happened at the same time as our school wide book "Poppy" which featured the owl Mr. Ocax. The students had fun talking about the chapters as we were creating this owl!
