First Grade - Perspective and Pattern

After finishing their textured backgrounds, first grade looked the way trees appear when looked at in a forest. Students noticed that the further back a tree was, the smaller and higher up on the ground it appeared. Students created trees by cutting simple shapes and applying patterns. They placed the trees on their backgrounds to achieve perspective by placing a row higher on the page and the trees in the front lower on the page.
